If you want to avoid paying more for a car that you might not like, you can opt out of Ultimate Choice. If you rent a car through Hertz, you will be allocated a midsize vehicle. Hertz defines a middle-sized car as a Group “C” car. You can make an advance booking if you're interested in a specific car. These cars can be found in the President's Circle and Manager Special areas.
President's Circle
Hertz President's Circle members get access to exclusive benefits and services. For example, when you rent a car from Hertz, you'll be eligible for a 50% discount off rental rates for your domestic partner or spouse. You can also gift your status to a family member or friend. 5-Star Aisle
Five-Star Aisle of Hertz Ultimate Choice offers members the choice between full-size and compact cars. Members with Hertz Plus Rewards accounts can skip waiting in line and get a reservation for a midsize car. A group of vehicles with upgraded features is also available to them. The Hertz Five-Star Aisle includes full-size cars as well as SUVs, minivans and pickup trucks.
Emerald Executive Aisle
For Hertz's Emerald Executive Aisle to be eligible, you must rent a vehicle at least twelve times per year. You must also have certain credit cards. If they pay the midsize rates, all those who qualify will get a free upgrade on to an executive car. Additionally, you can choose any car from the executive lineup and pay only the midsize fee if you drive to the Emerald Aisle airport.
Enjoy discounts on rentals for one week
If you sign up to the Gold Plus Rewards program, you can receive a discount for a one-week Hertz rental car. You can book a car from the middle-sized or higher class range through this program. You can choose from many different colors, makes, or models. These discounts can save you a lot of money on car rentals. You can use them as many times as you wish.
Upgrades to loyal members
Hertz Gold and Five Star loyalty members have the option to upgrade to Ultimate Choice. It gives customers the opportunity to upgrade from the cheapest car in their fleet to a higher-category car for $35 per day plus tax. You should also note that these loyalty members get a 25% bonus when you compare the price of upgrades with regular rentals. This feature is not available at all locations, however, so you should check the Hertz website before booking.
